Three ingredients that we’ve chosen to exclude.

AMMONIA— is typically used to swell the hair and open the cuticle scales to allow colour to penetrate deep within the cortex. For anyone with sensitive skin or scalp, this is an unhealthy additive. We’ve replaced it with MEA – an alkaline agent that mimics the role of Ammonia, minus the odour, red eyes and irritation. 

PPD— Paraphenylenediamine is a chemical known to cause dermatitis, reddening and swelling of the scalp and face. We’ve replaced it with low levels of PTDS (P-toluenediamine Sulfate), enabling up to 50% of PPD allergic stylists and clients to now use colour. 

RESORCINOL — is a popular colouring agent toxic to wildlife and the human immune system. Shade dependent, we’ve replaced it with 2-Methylresorcinol or 4-Chlororesorcinol – two chemicals kinder to the environment and with less potential to sensitise.

Following years of research and in-salon testing, CØR.color represents a huge leap forward for the hair industry, with the introduction of a progressive new colour technology–Molecular Blend Technology (MBT).

This revolutionary colouring system pre-links base and reflect colour pigments, allowing them to develop more effectively and evenly, giving superior coverage while minimising the risk of scalp irritation. 

As hairdressers ourselves, we know that technology is nothing without salon-floor performance. Following extensive in-salon testing, we’re confident in the spectacular results of this advanced formulation, and excited to share them with you. 

BEHIND THE SCENES

+ Hair colour pigments come in two forms: base and reflect

+ MBT pre-links these pigments in the laboratory, taking into consideration the specific molecular weight of each pigment

+ Once all base and reflect pigments are paired, no unlinked pigments remain which could cause scalp irritation

+ This linking process also guarantees that all pigments are fully developed and oxidised during the colour process 

+ The result is greater grey coverage (up to a level 9) without the need for Ammonia

Covid-19 2020

Well what can I say this year has been not what we expected. A virus has taken over the world. Not just that our lives, our lively hood and our minds have been blown.

We don’t know how long this will take before we can get back to normal, if there is a normal. What I do know is that I think this is a big learning curve for us all. We can learn how to actually live again.

For so long we have been disposable with most aspects of our live. We have put money and careers first. Family and our health has always proved be be put lower on the list. If this is something you can relate to well this is you too.

I had so many plans for this year that now are put to the back ground. March has been removed and anxiety, pressure and insecurity has replaced it.

We have been forced to close but myself and Mady will do a few regular clients on Thursday and Fridays. Unfortunately we can not take new clients at this time. I feel we are at to much risk, to be honest I am scared. I am scared for my Staff, clients, Family and my finances. This treading water and not knowing which step is write for everyone is very hard.

However I do believe this is time is for us to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Our families need us, Our planet needs us, our country and their businesses will need us too.

Please standby us through this time, take the vow to buy locally after this and support small businesses like me.

Love your family and people close to you because who knows what the future holds now but I think its bright and we have opportunities ahead of us that we didbn’t know we had.

Just look at the sky every now and then!

Muse Info time

To our beloved clients,

WE ARE 1 ALREADY.  WHERE HAS THAT TIME GONE.

We just want to say Thank you for your support over this last year.

The news of the salon as you all know is Nikki is due to give birth at the beginning of March and will be back at the end of April, but don't let this deter you. We have worked very hard in building each staff member and preparing full this amazing event. The salon is still in full swing and the rest of the girls are more then confident to look after all her clients. We are very organised for this next chapter and every client has a full record of history. Eleanor is in the salon on Thursdays and Saturdays as well.

Our first year was a huge success in our Journey of 'Muse'. We love sharing it with each and every one of you. We look forward to many more years of our growing Team and Salon.

We also unfortunately will begin enforcing our no show and last minute cancellation policy of $50. Due to the nature of our small business, we are unable to produce any income when appointments are missed or if a client reschedules less then 8 hours before their scheduled time. As you could imagine this is detrimental to small business as we rely solely on clientele.  In the last year alone, the cost of clients not turning up could have covered the wages of one of our dedicated team members. This is something we have thought long and hard about but unfortunately we have no choice and we hope you fully understand our position in this. We will continue to text 24 hours prior to all appointments.

We are currently on the hunt for a new addition to the team, we are in no hurry and want to find the right person to fit into our amazing team.

As of the end of April we will start opening Mondays, this means the salon will be open 6 days and we are really excited about this.

We are driven to deliver exceptional results for clients. We use and recommend Aviva Labs professional spray tan solution.

Our staff are trained dedicated spray tan consultants and will deliver you a perfect flawless natural looking spray tan. We will choose the perfect level for your skin type with 6 different shades ranging from a light for a natural look to extra dark for those who are like a rich bronzed look.

If you are in a rush, make the most of our express tan which develops in 1 – 3 hours. Muse staff will educate you on the importance of spray tan maintenance and how to prepare your skin for ultimate results.

Before your tan

Shower and exfoliate your skin thoroughly. Pay attention to rough, dry skin areas such as knees, elbows, ankles and tops of feet. Waxing and shaving  is to be should be done at least 24 hours before. Your skin must be completely free of any moisturizer, deodorant, makeup or perfumes.

After your tan

Wear loosely fitted clothing after your tan. Any minor excess bronzer will wash out of most fabric. Avoid wetting your skin or avoid activities that will cause over perspiration between the tanning and showering phase. You may shower after 5-8 hours. After each shower, always pat your skin dry with your towel. Moisturize daily and avoid using hot baths, chlorinated pools, and spas will reduce the life of your tan.

Currently we collect up to 95% of your salon waste.

We now recycle 95% of all our salon waste including cut hair. With each visit to our salon you not only look good but also you are contributing to creating a better future for our generations to come.

What does this mean you ask? 

Hair- Hair is made into hair booms oil which helps relief oil spills, 1 hair boom can clean up 4 litres of oil. Hair cut any longer then 15cm are donated to the Variety Children's charity. It takes 20 ponytails to make one wig! 

Metal/foil/razors- donated to non-profit community based organisations. 2 full head of foils can feed a homeless person; any profit made is given to Oz harvest. 

Chemical waste- 80-90% of our colour is made up of water. Any colour wastage we have is turned into drinkable water. Our excess chemicals build roads!

Plastic- recycled, made into building material and gardening equipment. Our plastic waste protects your internet!

We believe that if we as an industry come together and share a common goal of zero waste we can make a change that will have a positive outcome for future generations, the environment and our industry as a whole.
